  • Eisenhower Park – Golfers can choose from three public courses – Red, White and Blue. Practice your stroke at the 100-stall driving range. Make it an all-day affair on the 18-hole Blue course. Pretend you are competing in the PGA Tour's Commerce Bank Championship, when you step out onto the Red course.
  • Fire Island – Long Island is noted for its pristine beaches. Fire Island is no exception. It has evolved from a whaling village in the 17th century to a celebrity-studded shore retreat. Climb the steps of the 74-foot restored lighthouse.
  • Jones Beach – This popular beach has it all. Swim along 6.5 miles of shoreline. Dive into one of two swimming pools to cool off. Theodore Roosevelt Nature Center is a barrier island beach located within the park.
  • Old Westbury Gardens – Formerly home of the Phipps family, Old Westbury Gardens offers guided tours through 160-acres of breathtaking formal gardens, ponds, woodlands and lakes.  Peek inside the mansion.
  • Trail View State Park – Want to lose yourself in the midst of suburbia? Trail View State Park's 400-acres contain marshes, open fields and hardwood forests. Hike or bike in solitude. Saddle up your horse and head out on the bridle paths.
  • Heckscher State Park – This park was named one of 2005's top 100 campgrounds in the U.S. Bike or hike through 20 miles of trails. Swim at the on-site pool complex or in Great South Bay. Cross-country ski the park in winter.
  • Sunken Meadow State Park – Located on the Long Island Sound, the park boasts three miles of beach. Cross-country ski, picnic and hike. Visitors can also horseback ride, canoe, fish, play golf at its putting green, driving range or 27 holes, windsurf and bike.
  • Smith Point State Park – Located within Fire Island National Seashore, Smith Point State Park is the county's largest oceanfront park. Scuba dive off-shore. Go for a leisurely swim. Refine your surfing technique.Camp out for a night under the stars.
  • Long Island Light House – Visit the oldest lighthouse in New York state, Montauk Point Lighthouse. The structure is over 200 years old and visitors can explore the history at the Montauk Point Lighthouse Museum.
